So I have dropped my iPhone one or two times and now the GPS feature is, let's say, a little off. I can't even use maps if I am trying to go somewhere because I will end up somewhere at least ten miles off. So lately what I have been doing is just reading the turn by turn directions and going. From one exit or street to the next it is reassuring to confirm each move by what I've read and see in front of me, that lets me know I am headed in the right direction.
This week our team was at Exponential. I didn't know too much about the conference up until this past week. If you'd like to check it out, go to www.exponential.org. All I did know was that it was geared for the church planter. It was a week filled with the movement of the Holy Spirit; from the preaching of the word of God to the Spirit filled worship and the practical but rich break-out sessions. And even though that alone would of been an amazing blessing to our team, God always does more than what we can expect or even imagine.
We were challenged to dream, to dream big, why? Because our God dreams big, plans big, and loves big. I walked in to this conference with a dream that felt like jello that had not been put in the fridge yet or a cake that had not been put in the oven yet. It wasn't yet solidified. It is an amazing thing when God confirms and reaffirms the dreams we have, no matter how big and crazy they may be. As a matter of fact I believe God wants us to dream big crazy dreams that will spread His love all over this world he's created. Please don't see your dreams as too big, unachievable, crazy, stupid, or impossible. If your dreams are about bringing glory to God and the good of people then your dreams are probably not big enough, because God could do bigger than what we dream. Please read what Paul, one of the greatest dreamers to ever live wrote...
"And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God. Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think. Glory to him in the church and in Christ Jesus through all generations forever and ever! Amen."
God desires to see your dreams come to life. That was definitely one of the things we experienced this past week. Our dream for Luminous City Church, San Diego, the United States and the world was clarified and solidified this past week and I can't begin to tell you how good that feels. Jesus left the world but left His dream for us to carry out (Acts 1:8-11).
So what's your dream? How will your dream bring to life Jesus' dream in the corner of your world?
